Gramin bank customer care number depends on which of India’s 28 regional rural banks holds your account. Since the “One State, One RRB” merger took effect on 1 May 2025, almost every state has a single gramin bank, which makes the right helpline far easier to find than it was when Uttar Pradesh alone had three. Your passbook, cheque book or debit card names your bank. Match it to the state-wise list below and you have your number.
One more shortcut is worth knowing before you scroll. Gramin banks that share a sponsor bank often share helpline numbers too, so even if a number for your bank isn’t printed anywhere handy, your sponsor bank’s family usually gives it away.

Why Some Gramin Banks Share the Same Number
Look down the table and two numbers keep turning up. That isn’t a mistake.
Gramin banks run their ATM networks and card systems on their sponsor bank’s technology. So the SBI-sponsored banks in Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh all list the same trio of ATM helplines: 1800 532 7444, 1800 833 1004 and 1800 123 6230. Call any of them to block a lost card or report cash that didn’t come out of an ATM.
On the PNB side, 1800 180 7777 serves Punjab Gramin Bank, West Bengal Gramin Bank and Bihar Gramin Bank. It even survives inside Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, as the line for customers of the former Prathama UP Gramin Bank, which PNB used to sponsor.
The practical takeaway:
- If you can’t find your gramin bank’s helpline, check which bank sponsors it. The same family of numbers often works.
- ATM and card numbers are best for card blocking and failed ATM withdrawals.
- For loans, KYC, passbook or account-opening questions, your own branch still knows your file best.
Uttar Pradesh: Three Numbers, One Bank
Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank was formed from Baroda U.P. Bank, Aryavart Bank and Prathama U.P. Gramin Bank, and it has kept a separate toll-free line for each group of customers. The bank labels them with an “e” prefix, meaning “erstwhile”.
| If your account was originally with | Call |
| Baroda U.P. Bank (e-BUPB) | 1800 180 0225 |
| Aryavart Bank (e-AB) | 1800 102 0304 |
| Prathama U.P. Gramin Bank (e-PUPGB) | 1800 180 7777 |
The lines work from 10 am to 5 pm. The head office is on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the NBCC Commercial Complex, Vardan Khand, Gomti Nagar Extension, Lucknow. Calling the line that matches your original bank gets you to someone with access to your old account records straight away.
After the Merger: Account Numbers, IFSC and Cheque Books
The 2025 merger changed more than names. In several states, customers received new IFSC codes, and in some cases new account numbers. A few things are worth checking if you haven’t already:
- Rajasthan: customers of the former Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank can get their new account number by sending ONRF <old account number> by SMS to 92570 44793 from their registered mobile. You can also message “Hi” on WhatsApp to 87501 87504. If a government portal doesn’t accept the new IFSC yet, the bank allows the central IFSC RMGB0000901 for the time being.
- Karnataka: new cheque books carry IFSC codes starting with PKGB. Older cheque books with the former bank’s name and MICR have a limited validity, so it’s worth swapping them at your branch.
- Everywhere: if a salary credit, pension, PM-Kisan instalment or DBT payment uses your old IFSC, update it with the department. Payments usually still arrive during the changeover, but updating avoids a failed credit later.
Official websites have also moved to the .bank.in domain under RBI guidelines. Any gramin bank page ending in .bank.in is genuine, which is a simple check before you enter internet banking details.
Getting a Complaint Resolved
Gramin banks follow the same grievance structure as other scheduled banks. Most issues settle at the first step.
- Your branch. Speak to the branch manager or write to the branch email listed on your bank’s website. Branches handle KYC, passbook, loans and nominations directly.
- Toll-free line or online portal. Karnataka Grameena Bank, for example, takes complaints through its toll-free numbers and its Public Grievance Redressal System portal. Chhattisgarh Rajya Gramin Bank lets you track a complaint online using your grievance ID and mobile number.
- Regional office, then head office. Addresses are on each bank’s “Contact Us” page.
- RBI Ombudsman. If the bank hasn’t resolved your complaint within 30 days, you can file it free on cms.rbi.org.in under the RBI Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.
For any unauthorised transaction, call 1930 or report it on cybercrime.gov.in right away, and inform your bank the same day. Quick reporting gives you the strongest protection under RBI’s rules on customer liability.
Balance Checks Without Calling Anyone
Many gramin bank customers call customer care just to check a balance. A missed call is faster:
- Gujarat Gramin Bank: 78299 77711
- Odisha Grameen Bank: 80 1010 6686
- Telangana Grameena Bank: 92780 31313
- Andhra Pradesh Grameena Bank: 90902 90912
- Uttarakhand Gramin Bank (missed call alerts): 92120 05002
Use the mobile number registered with your account. In some banks, such as Telangana Grameena Bank, the service has to be activated at your branch first with a short form.
